This was a second opinion on work required and following a detailed inspection by Brian he reassured me that the previous work suggested was not necessary. So though I cannot comment on his work we were delighted with his professional and honest advice. I would certainly recommend using his services.

Fortress One are our number One. We spent months being given different reasons by many different firms for some damp in our basement. We then contacted Brian who conducted a full investigation and survey. He sent a detailed illustrated report to explain his plan. He visited again to answer our questions. He is extremely knowledgeable and has tonnes of experience. The house was kept very clean and safe during the work being done. We received regular updates and photos. Our survey was incredibly detailed and thorough, and Brian was deeply knowledgeable and generous with his time and expertise. Work was reasonably priced and though work was needed to be carried out over more days than expected, this did not amount to extra cost for us. We purchased a flat that had a survey for damp proofing work attached to the home report. I contacted Fortress One for a second opinion. Brian arrived early and after completing his inspection work he then emailed a detailed report on the problem (condensation-not rising damp as the initial survey stated) advising the best remedy, saving us a lot of money. I’d phoned Brian after many failed attempts at resolving a penetrating damp issue in my flat. I’d just had a “survey” carried out by another company a few days before & was quoted at least £4000 for the remedial works, all without the contractor actually checking anything. I decided to get a second (well, first) opinion after a number of red flags with the company & thankfully I did. I received a very comprehensive report, containing pictures & references, method statements & other useful information to help me fix not only what I’d called him for, but other humidity & condensation problems which I didn’t even know I was experiencing. I was then able to approach a roofing contractor with confidence in what needed to be done & what I should expect.
